Responding to the most important historical events has always been characteristic of the Maly Theatre, one of its main traditions. Andrey Zhitinkin's performance based on Victor Rozov's famous play "Forever Alive" is an attempt to resurrect in our memory the events, deeds and feelings of people who lived during the Great Patriotic War. The pain of loss, honor and duty, sincere love and adaptability - these concepts come to life again and again in our hearts. Performance Director Andrey Zhitinkin: "This is a very personal performance for me, two of my grandfathers didn’t return from the war… However our performance is not about trenches, but about what war breaks in human souls. And, of course, this is a dedication to our loved ones. It's a metaphor for memory. Only love helps to survive in the conditions of war and not to lose yourself. For many young people, Rozov’s conflict solution will be a real revelation. Now it is very important to give the audience hope...".
