“Krechinsky’s Wedding” by Alexander Kolker premiered on June 7, 1973. Then the authors’ purpose was to create the first Soviet musical. The performance was put on by Vitaly Solomin in the branch of Maly Theatre. Today it has got a new sound on the Main (Historical) stage.
50 years have passed since premiere of the first production, but the musical touches on topics which are also relevant nowadays: it contrasts the greed with sincere feeling.
Which will win – money or love? And after all who is this Krechinsky – a thief or just a human, entangled in his passions? And is a person who is mired in the abyss of vice capable of true love? It's up to you, dear viewers!
