Boris Vladimirovich Klyuev, People's Artist of Russia, was born on July 13, 1944 in Moscow. In 1969, after graduating from Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (the course of L.A. Volkov), he was invited to join the Maly Theatre’s company. Today Boris Vladimirovich is universally acknowledged as one of the leading actors within the company.
With his acting versatility, expressive countenance, temperament and powerful presence, Boris Vladimirovich managed to play a wide range of characters in numerous Maly Theatre’s productions. Boris Klyuev is known for portraying a stern and grumpy head of the family Nikolai Petrovich Voronin in a popular TV series «The Voronins». His character is a madman and a domestic tyrant, but at the same time he is an exceptionally charming man. In 2012 Klyuev won the national prize TEFI in the Best Actor nomination for this role.
