Tatyana Nikolaevna Lebedeva, Honored Artist of Russia, was born on January 31, 1956. In 1980, she graduated from Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (the course of V.I. Korshunov) and joined the Maly Theatre’s company.

Tatyana made her stage debut with «Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich» in the role of a kind and loving princess Mstislavskaya. Her talent immediately captured the attention and sympathy of the audiences and theatre critics. This work was followed by captivating and remarkable performances. Among them the role of Varya in Chekhov’s «The Cherry Orchard» is especially worth mentioning. Tatyana Nikolaevna played this role for many years, replenishing her character with new colors, making her heroine extremely feminine and poignant.

Thanks to her «elegant and refined», innate regal bearing, gentleness and goodness, Tatyana landed the roles of legendary crowned queens in Maly Theatre’s productions: wise and faithful Tsaritza Irina Feodorovna in «Tsar Fyodor Ioannovich» by Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy, adorable, elegant and aristocratic Grand Duchesses Maria Nikolaevna and Tatyana Nikolaevna in «And I Shall Repay» by Sergey Kuznetsov, ambitious Tsaritza Maria Grigorievna Godunova in «Tsar Boris» by Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy, ruthless and jealous Empress Ekaterina Alekseevna in «Tsar Peter and Alexei» by Friedrich Gorenstein, sovereign Catherine the Grea in «The Theatre of the Empress» by Edvard Radzinsky, magnificent and ardent Eleanor of Austria in «Secrets of the Madrid Court» by Eugène Scribe and Ernest Leguvé.
