The traditional gathering of the Maly Theatre company shall take place on the 4th September.
Yuri Solomin, the Artistic Director of the Maly Theatre, People’s Artist of the USSR, and General Director Tamara Mikhailova shall conclude the previous season and tell us about the plans for the 259th season, as well as update the public on the reconstruction of the historic venue of the Maly Theatre. They will also congratulate the People’s Artist of Russia Boris Kluev and People’s Artist of Russia Grigoriy Gobernik, who both celebrated their 70th birthday this summer.The plans of the Maly Theatre for the season 2014-2015 are extensive. On the 4th of October the season will traditionally open with the comedy «Woe from Wit» by Alexander Griboedov. Before it starts work in Moscow, the theatre shall set off on a tour of different Russian cities. Our performances shall visit Chelyabinsk, Trehgorniy and Kursk. In October ou performances shall be shown in Tver, Tumen, and Ufa.In October the Maly Theatre shall present to the audience three premieres — «The Masquerade» (5 October at 18:00) by Yuri Lermontov, «Cinderella» by Eugene Shvarts (5 October at 12:00), «The Theatre of the Empress» by Eduard Radzinskiy (17 October at 19:00).On the 19th October the Maly Theatre, renewing the tradition of high-society gatherings and children’s celebrations, shall invite young princesses to a real ball, which shall take place after the performance of «Cinderella».In November the Maly Theatre shall open its second venue in the Cultural Centre of the Moscow Aviation Institute in the Sokol area.Also invited to take part at the company meeting are Alexander Kochenov, the director of the main contractor of the theatre’s reconstruction «Baltstroi» and Anatoliy Geraschinko, the Chancellor of the Moscow Aviation Institute. We shall also be showing a video on how our reconstruction is going.
